Now that 2012 and the Arm Party (Thank you Man Repeller) are behind us, what’s next? The Necklace parade. Layer some lush statement pieces with dainty chains to amp up last season’s style. Here are a few from Anthropologie that I’m loving this season.
1. Jade Dotted Double Strand
2. Agassie Ceramic Necklace
3. Brass Cirque Necklace
4. Fairburn Necklace
5. Geometer Nekclace
6. Drupelet Strand
7. Embroidery Tufted Pendant Necklace
8. lock and key necklace

How fashion inspires us is an interesting thing. We use it in all facets of our life. Colors we see throughout the season inspire so many subconscious choices we make that year. When I caught up with Peter Pincus he told me he recently found an immense amount of inspiration in the fashion image above and what transpired? The beautiful work below. This well designed tea bowl has barely cooled from its last fire and is already off to a show.
The hue you see between the soft grey and black tones is between a mint and pale blue, which Pincus discovered as his eye mixed the pattern of the fashion image.

I’m a huge fan of Chic Comfort and I’m loving the former Tory Burch Designer, Stephanie Von Watzdorf. The world traveler launched her new Figue collection last fall, inspired by the fig fruit she so often ate throughout her childhood in Italy. While her designs and style are definitely luxe and made for a champagne wallet, her edge is timeless. Although a native New Yorker, as a daughter of a Russian Ballerina mother and German/French father, she has been surrounded by a worldly view and desire to travel her entire life. Her cultural influence has left her collection with an independent imagination and rich, bohemian style.
So often our clothes wear us or are determined by the NOW factor. Von Watzdorf’s pieces are in essence, an extension of her lifestyle. She owns the look and incorporates the beauty of her experiences in her tunics and military coats. From Marrakech to Manhattan, the design translates to all walks of life.

When I tell people what my wardrobe staples are, I get many looks and sanity is not one of them. My staples are not a nude skirt and a pop of color. Change up your staples, take a piece with a little flare and incorporate it for more than just a special occasion.

I love wearing white and cream in the winter. It feels so feminine and chic. This is one of my favorite dresses because of the dainty pink lace detail and light free flow of the sleeves and skirt. Great Holiday look.

We all head for black in the winter, but this time, go metallic heels for the Holidays and mix it up with a Cape instead of a Coat. Easy way to feel chic.

This was one of those days that was horrible to photograph, but too perfect to miss. I visited the lake where I grew up over Thanksgiving and it was as beautiful as I remember. It was beyond the sunniest day I’ve seen in a long time and the air was perfect. What more appropriate than a blazer and sweatshirt with Oxford’s.

During the Holidays the first thing that comes to mind are the parties, but what about all the days in between? There is event after event of equal importance and here’s how to dress for the everyday luxuries.
Brunch with out of town friends look: C&C California boat neck gold top // Asos Metallic jeans // Sam Edelman Ballet Flats // Sanctuary Faux Fur Vest // Oliver Peoples Sunnies // Carter & Spence Stone Ring // Michael Kors Watch // Jami Necklace
And…there’s more. The underlying theme to these looks is, if a brand works for you, Stick with it! I love a little C&C California in my life and although I’m an East Coast Girl, I love the relaxed, sleek style C&C provides. Here are three of my go to’s for this year’s Holiday casual events.
Christmas Tree cutting look: C&C California legging/patch riding pant // Juicy Couture Sweater Boots // Michael Stars shirt // The North Face Vest // Infinity Scarf // Micheal Kors Watch
Vintage/Antique shopping for unique gifts look: C&C California faux leather dress // Dior Sunnies // Madden Girl Leather Boots // Michael Kors Watch // Infinity scarf // Kena necklace

Poetic Licence yellow shooties (also like these) // Royal Blue Blazer // Black Cynthia Rowley Dress // Eastern Market necklace // feather barette // hue tights (really want these red ones) // Black Onyx stone ring (similar Max & Chloe ring) // Boe. heart necklace
I am currently obsessed with these yellow shooties and pairing it with this royal blue blazer was the perfect complement. When you love what you wearing, I’m sure it holds true, everything that day just flows a little bit smoother. Be bold. If you like it? Wear it. Own it.
